11th Dec 2004 - Harsh Realities
During one of Rich's trips back to the UK, Rich and Dan go for a first good luck at their craft. Rich's first reaction is that she's incredibly small! We spend a long time chatting to John Peck, the previous occupant of the boat, and discover quite how much there is to do in the comparatively short time until 27th November.

18th Nov 2004 - Our boat!
Acting quickly with a potential shortage of good boats around, the guys put down the deposit on Commodore Shipping, and start the long road into debt!

Realising that they need money to allow them to participate, the guys start to send out sponsorship requests. Not much response sadly.

23rd Aug 2004 - An Identity
We become Team Atlantic Prince, named after our college alumni club, Black Prince. We also decide to raise money for Cancer Research UK and the Make-a-Wish foundation.

9th Aug 2004 - Bad Timing
Rich, working in Australia until March, calls his parents to tell them of his new great plan. It is an unfortunate coincidence that the Pink Lady four, trying to row from the US to the UK goes down on the same day, with the crew being very lucky to be rescued - and even more unlucky that this becomes headline news in the UK. Parents not 100% convinced.

1st Aug 2004 - A New Challenge!
On a rafting trip to Canada, Dan suggests to Rich that it would be a great idea to enter the Atlantic Rowing Race 2005. Rich's response is obvious, given that this website exists.
